      • New Born Baby Care

From Labor To Delivery, APC Pediatrics Will Be There Every Step Of The Way.

We offer free appointments for expecting mothers!

Congratulations! You Have Welcomed a New Baby to Your Family!

We understand that choosing a pediatrician for your newborn is probably the most important decision you will ever make!

This decision is often overwhelming for new parents. Your new baby is precious and of course you want the best possible care for them. Since most hospitals in Florida require a scheduled appointment with a pediatrician BEFORE you are allowed to leave the hospital after your baby’s birth, it is best to have selected a pediatrician before you going into the hospital. This will help you avoid uneducated, and rushed decisions, something you never want to do when caring for your child.

Scheduled Check Ups For Your Baby:

Even the healthiest of newborns require regularly scheduled check ups and care. It is important to determine the positive and natural development of your baby. At APC Pediatrics we have a recommended schedule of routine appointments to insure parents that their baby is progressing naturally. During these routine examinations a baby’s weight is recorded, their head circumference is measured, their belly button is monitored, appropriate vaccinations are administered, and an overall general examination is given to rule out any visible negative conditions. At APC Pediatrics, we will dive deep into your pregnancy, asking questions about your labor and delivery, including any complications, as well as, how your baby is eating, sleeping, and more. We will address any concerns, you as a parent, may have regarding caring for your newborn, including those related to eating, sleeping, diaper rashes, and crying.

      • How It Works

Frequently asked questions about delivering your baby, insurance & circumcision.

        1

        Baby is born

The hospital will notify our office that baby is born. Our Pediatricians will go to the hospital within 24hrs of birth. Our doctors will maintain communication with care giver at the hospital and may order some newborn routine test prior to the arrival of our Doctors. Our Pediatricians will examine your baby, evaluate the results from test and provide advice and patient education on our visits to the hospital. Time at the hospital is typically 2-3 days depending on the type of delivery and whether mother is ready to go home. We like to maintain the babies closer to their mothers. Baby is discharged when the mother is discharged if there is no health issues.

        2

        First visit to the office

Babies seen by our pediatricians at either Manatee Memorial or Lakewood Ranch hospitals will follow the doctor’s summary recommendation upon discharge. Payment at the office won’t be required on first visit, as we will bill the insurance provided by the hospital. However, parents need to call their insurance company to add the baby to the policy. The policy holder needs to add the new baby within 7 days of delivery.

        3

        Baby delivered to other hospitals

If the baby is delivered at a hospital other than Manatee Memorial or Lakewood Ranch, we will require a proof of insurance or payment prior to any service at our office. Baby active on insurance website no payment required. Other insurance status such as “Insurance pending”; “paper work submitted through employer” or “seeking for coverage” or “in process” or “uninsured” are all considered “self pay” and parents are responsible for their visit until baby is active. The sooner the baby is added to the policy, the sooner he/she will be active on insurance website.

        4

        Baby added to policy

Once baby eligibility is established, our office will update the status from “Self Pay” to “Insured” and we will submit all pending claims, parents needs to notify the office and provide the ID numbers. We do not have access to these ID until you provide them to us. Insurance requires the submission of claims within contracted time frame, otherwise claims will expire and parents will be responsible. The sooner this information is provided to the office the sooner we will send the claim to the insurance and receive payment on your behalf to reimburse you 100% on “self pay" and out of pocket payments.

        5

        Circumcision for baby boys

The procedure is available upon request to our doctors. If doctors are available, the Circumcision are performed at the hospital prior to baby discharge using 3 forms pain relief. Our doctor’s fees for the elective service is $250.00. The circumcision fees are to be collected prior to any circumcision.
